Staying Healthy During the Corona Virus Pandemic
Most of us are quarantined to help do our part in reducing the pandemic. Besides the CDC recommendations which we all are familiar with at this point , staying home and sedentary can take it’s toll on both your physical and mental health. Try to go outside and take walks everyday. Find a local park and enjoy nature. This is great not just for moving your body but distracting your mind from all of the stress present today. Push yourself and make this a priority. Try to exercise at home which will have both physical and mental benefits. Do what you can with pushups, situps or crunches, planks etc. If you choose to not go outside, climb the stairs in your home or building.
It’s the perfect time to engage in a hobby that you like or start a project that you never seem to get around to. Learn how to play a musical instrument, use your time to finally read some books that you’ve been meaning to get to, listen to music without distractions, experiment with cooking that you rarely have the time for. There’s so much online learning available for almost anything you want to try. Try to eat as healthy as possible and limit your snacking from stress and boredom.
Maintain your good oral health habits of brushing at least twice per day and flossing at least once per day. if you have a dental emergency, the NYC Smile Spa is maintaining limited hours and staff every morning Monday through Friday to accomodate your needs so you don’t have to worry or suffer. Besides our standard sterilization and disinfecting protocols, we are also disinfecting common surfaces such as doorknobs, closet handles, coffee machines, etc throughout the day for your safety. So if you have any dental issues, please feel free to call us!
